Catmosphere Cat Cafe

The highly anticipated opening of Sydney's first cat cafe, Catmosphere, happened last weekend and as you can imagine, I couldn't wait to go! The fiance and I visited on Tuesday afternoon and had a blast with the gorgeous rescues that now live at the cafe.

I wasn't sure what to expect, having never been to a Cat Cafe before, but it was pawsome. First off, Catmosphere is space themed! And who doesn't love space?! ;) When we first walked in we were greeted by one of the owners, Thomas who I had met before, and we then placed our orders for our chais (or coffee if you're that way inclined) and wen't upstairs to the bigger of the two cat rooms. There weren't too many people for our 4pm session (they're in hourly blocks) which was great but plenty of cats! Most were snoozing but there were a few playful kits running around too and all of them enjoyed some pats.

Our chais were delivered to us shortly after we go there and we were able to enjoy them in the room with the cats, but no food was allowed due to health regulations, which is understandable. We spent about half an hour getting kitty cuddles in that room before venturing down to the smaller room, which only had four cats. I believe this room will be used for people who just want a quick kitty hit a bit later down the track.

In all I think Cat Cafes like this, that have adoptable rescue cats, are a great idea. Obviously putting a bunch of cats together will take its toll on some of them in the beginning, but I did overhear one of the staff saying that all of the cats there have come from foster homes and are able to be returned back to those foster homes if it doesn't work out. I believe the welfare of the cats is a priority and would therefore recommend Catmosphere to my fellow cat junkies out there! Cant wait to go again.

On our way out we got these cute cat shaped cookies, which I enjoyed with a cuppa the next day. Yum!

Stay tuned for some exciting Catmosphere-Feline Foundation collaborations soon! ;)
